James and I went to Tillicoultry to run the Maddy Moss last night, and met Colin Glencorse there too, so 3 Harriers took part in what I thought was a terrific race. It starts steeply with a long climb but from the top of Ben Cleuch it's essentially all downhill on soft turf, tracks and a final steep stony descent. Only 10k, and great fun!
There were 134 runners and the winner was Grant Stewart in 49.27.
Colin was on good form and finished in 12th place in 57.34, I managed 87th place in 1.10.46, and James lost some ground on the uphill but then pulled it back on the down to finish 108th in 1.17.28.

Well done Gordon (and James and Colin)! Another very good performance by the Harriers!
I've been wanting to do this one for years but something's always got in the way. Next year for sure!
By the way, is it an AM category - ie do I need to update the championship?
Also, you didn't happen to broach the subject of the Comrie Hills relay with Colin did you? I haven't been able to get hold of him by phone or e-mail... |

Thanks Phil, I can recommend the race - it is an AM.
I'm afraid I didn't think to ask Colin about the Comrie Hills, but he did give me £10 for this year's club membership! |
