Very pleased to announce the arrival of Ruaridh William McLay, born Friday 6 November at 7.44am and weighing in at 8lbs 10ozs.
Ruaridh was delivered by c-section after Jo was induced on Thursday and labour hadn't progress as hoped. Procedure went smoothly and after they had un-wrapped the cord from Ruaridh's neck he had a good old scream and fuss!
Aside from the operation Jo is fine and Ruaridh is doing really well, had managed to have about 4 or 5 feeds by the time I left Jo at hospital yesterday evening and for the moment at least is just sleeping a lot in between times. He has huge feet and hands and very long legs - not like Jo and I at all - and a thick head of hair.
Now - what age does junior membership of the club start at?

So many congratulations to you, Jo and wee Ruaridh. I love that name. It is such a great wee boy's name, but good luck his future P1 teacher teaching him the correct spelling!
Hope the tum heals well, Jo and that you all settle into a routine once you get home.
Congrats again.

Congratulations to you both - wonderful news!
My eyes are watering at the size of him - big feet and long legs sounds very promising on the running front.....................!!

Missed the 8lbs 10 - yeah, yikes, tum route out seems like a good way out to me!
Would you believe I was that weight when I was born - my poor mother - I think it is the only time in my life I have ever been able to be described as big! Hee Hee!
