ullapool sunshineWell what a fab weekend!!
When Lawrence and I eventually arrived on the Saturday we were stormed but a bunch of harriers who infiltrated the van - I didn't know it was possible to fit eight people in such a small place.
Anyway, the weather was eventually kind and although Lawrence and I spent quite a bit of time out on the road bikes everyone just got on with enjoying themselves what ever the weather.
Thanks to George for the setting up and organising and to everyone else for making it a relaxing fun weekend...
Here’s to next year

Yes what an enjoyable weekend it was. It was a lovely campsite and Ullapool itself was charming, i definitely want to go back for another visit. There were however some very dark moments for me in the middle of the first night with the howling wind, driving rain and a gang of crows taking residence outside the tent, but the tent unfortunately survived the night!
Next time i hope to be able to join in with the running a bit more it is the best way to see a place but i really enjoyed my walk on Sunday with Colin, Judith,Kaz and Al.
Can't wait for next year!!

I take it all back. I did not believe that dreadful trick Jim told Phil to attract the coos would work. Hope you feel the sacrifice was worth it P.

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend, I'm really glad I went despite my misgivings about the weather beforehand!
Highlights for me were:
- friday night around the camp fire (3 x disposable bbq's!),
- a great longer than expected run on saturday,
- taking over Lawrence and wendy's camper for some drinkies before we went out for our fish and chips
- breakie in the sunshine looking out over Loch broom on sunday morning
- a lovely walk up Stac Pollaidh with Graham, Jane, Seonaid and the children
And Liz and her pronunciation of The Frigate Cafe ......priceless!!!
And the lowpoints:
- a truly awful nights sleep in the howling gales of Friday night
- sitting in the car on saturday morning waiting for the latest 'heavy shower' to pass over....
- the letchy bloke in the Ferry Inn......urgh!
A few photos attached, tried to do the Flickr thing but my pc is so slow downloading, I gave up!
Thanks again to George and Phil for organising the trip. Here's to 2010!
