Strathaven 10k

Well done to both Allan and Angela for your performance at the Run With the Wind 10k on Sunday.

I'm not sure how you'll sort out the winner of the wager though as I see that Allan crossed the line 5 seconds ahead but Angela's chip time was 6 seconds faster.

Gun time:

Allan 41.16
Angela 41.21

Chip time:

Angela 41.08
Allan 41.14

Only one way to sort this out.....Fight!

or perhaps a rematch at Bishopbriggs?

Thank you for posting the results!

As neither of us achived our goal of under 40 mins, we were pretty disappointed with the result.  It was only at the end we realised we'd been running so close together, if we'd realised it might have given us the push we needed!

The rematch is at Cambuslang 10K on 28th December!! I'm entred ...Allan r u?

As for the wager we both aggreed we would prefer our money to go towards something to remember Simon.  Maybe a race or a cup for a harrier to be awarded....

Everyones suggestions would be good and hopefully we could come up with something special!

Thanks

Angela
Allan

The race started with the usual selection of excuses prepared – ‘injured foot which had hampered training’ (allan) ‘Amber teething and  recovering from the cold.’ (Angela)

Both runners adopted the pre race avoidance strategy by not wearing club colours and keeping a low profile at the start line.

Allan stormed into an early lead whilst Angela, missed the start and a chance to stretch and limber up.   All the time both runners were unaware of each other.

At the finish line both runners met each other, still unaware who had crossed the line first.  Although, Angela did admit to seeing the back of the running kit owned by Allan, throughout the whole race, blissfully unaware that by upping the tempo ever so slightly would have given her victory.

The big question is who actually won ?  A fair result would be a draw or as Phil suggests FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT

p.s. I haven’t entered for Cambuslang as my foot is still quite sore and I think I need more quality training to get a decent time.  Therefore, Bishopbriggs seems a more realistic sub 40 challenge.

As for the wager just to echo what Angela suggests a race/trophy in Simon’s memory I think would be nice tribute for the ‘most improved’  or whatever category the club decides upon.
Allan

I meant to add Angela being 3rd in your category would have meant a prize after all!!

Well done Very Happy
