Stars In Their Eyes - Friday 27th MarchStrathearn Harriers making your dreams come true!
7:30 to late - Friday 27th March – Royal British Legion Crieff.
No more standing in front of the mirror with your hairbrush in hand pretending to be your favorite star!
Now you can do it for real in our ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ Talent Contest.
We can’t guarantee a £1,000,000 record deal, but we can promise a great night out!
Contest entrants will be on a strictly first come, first serve basis consisting of:-
3 male solo acts
3 female solo acts
4 groups (including duets!)
Giving a total of 10 acts!
A winner will be chosen from each category who will then sing a second song for their chance to win best overall performance.
Acts will be judged on 3 criteria
1. Singing ability
2. Costume/resemblance to original star
3. Entertainment value
The audience will all have voting slips and winners will be chosen from slip totals.
This event is not open to the public, admission is only for members of Strathearn Harriers and their friends @ £5 each.
After the Contest there will be a disco playing a wide and varied selection of music for the rest of the night.
For further information about entering the contest please contact George Carson 07743 966 568.

Judith and I would love to do our famous representation of that well-known duo from the Fifties, Ruff and Reddy (I'm definitely Ruff, Judith's always Reddy) but unfortunately this time we're both abroad, visiting our doubtless hard-working student daughter in Holland. We trust someone will video the proceedings and post it on YouTube so the world can gasp and marvel at Strathearn's depth of talent.
David Attenborough deserves the final word - would the oceans be as deep if they weren't full of sponges?

Already have one female singer signed up - Elaine Moffat! - She is deciding who to be at the moment.
I think it only fair that for the groups/duets that at least 50% should be SH members, but the other 50% could be non member friends.
I can arrange rehearsals before the night for those who wish it and possibly provide a copy of the karaoke disks with your chosen song for you to practice on your own.
We are looking at having a buffet for supper and will keep you all informed.
Although the purpose of the night is purely to provide a fun night entertainment for SH club members and friends, we will include a raffle (donated prizes welcome!) and any profits from the night will be added to our contribution to pancreatic cancer research.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Thank you for your support.

No questions so far?.....So everybody must be happy?....Cool!
One person said they would be happy to take part, but unsure about dressing up!
No Problem!...remember this just a fun night out for us all to have a laugh, a sing song & a dance.
For those who wish to take part in the show, just do what you want!...You can either dress up like your character or just come as you are...Just have a good time.
I'm still working on prizes (don't expect too much!)...
I'll hopefully get in to the hall to set up in the afternoon. So if anybody wants a practise I'm sure we can manage something.
Again, any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Many thanks to all who supported our latest social night out.
Special congratulations to the top three prize winners –
John, Elaine and Phil M……
Phil M also won the ‘best overall performance’ and is currently considering his future prospects, undecided whether to remain with his current employment or contact Simon Cowell.
All three will have the chance to attend the Clearwater Studios in Perth to make a special Strathearn Harriers ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ CD.. which will be available for everyone to purchase …..

I personally, had a great night, good company, excellent entertainment, tons of food, cheap drink and pleasant surroundings all for only £5.
Looking forward to the next event – Ullapool!

George, thanks for another memorable Harriers evening.
All the ingredients were there: fine wine, haute cuisine, music (after a fashion), dancing, laughter and, of course, tears, and beautifully coordinated and compered by the supremely smooth DJ GC.
Re: the Clearwater gig, have your people call my people to see if they can ID a window. Just remember, blue orchids, filtered pomegranite juice and soft-bolied finches eggs in the dressing room or it's all off.

My sis and i really had a good night, although not singing we had a good dance back to the 80's; it was fab.
