Pram Derby - WE WON!Calling all Harriers!
For a laugh - a few of us are going to enter the 'Comrie Fortnight Pram Derby'.
Our Theme is to be '25 years of Strathearn Harriers'.
Kirsty is stealing hers Dad's Wheel Chair (When he's not looking!) So we need someone to sit in the chair whilst the rest of us either push the chair or run along side.
We're still working on how exactly we're going to dress up the wheel chair...but the rest of us will have party hats and party hooters and All must be dressed in SH vests, shorts & trainers.
If you're happy to make a fool of yourself in front of loads of people then please confirm that you'll be there by sending me a text.
We need to gather at top square on Dalginross by 7 pm! Monday 27th July!
Afterwards we head to the Burger van on the Boulevard...then down to the 'Comrie Hotel' for Beer & Song with 'Carsons' Karaoke'...
Please phone your SH pals right now and let them know about it....
See you tomorrow night

I'll be out with the Comrie pipe band at the Pram Derby, so if anybody needs a lift from Crieff give me a shout.
Cheers,

A Team of 8 elite Harriers took part in the viciously competitive Comrie Fortnight Pram Derby and we WON!
Ian, Phil and George were flanked by Liz, Kirsty & Matt as we pushed Kaz in a decorated wheel chair down Dalginross.
Al chose not to run as he was our official photographer, so I'm looking forward to seeing the Photos.
We were nearly beaten by some 'Smurffs' and the 'Blues Brothers' were hot on our heels but we kept our pace in spite of loosing a front tyre near the end!
We then retreated to the Boulivard for Burgers and were presented with our prize....(£5)
Then it was 'Party Time' in the Comrie Hotel with 'Carsons' Karaoke' til closing time.
Thank you all for making it such a great night.

Here are some of the photos of the evenings events. http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/McStecko/PramDerby .
The smurfs certainly gave us a shock in the early stages (personally I suspect them of using their famous Smurf magic powers) but with a team crammed full of marathoners and ultramarathoners, superior endurance told in the end.
In particular I think Ian has every right to look so proud in the post race victory photo (though he may want to get the left one looked at by a qualified medic - Phil T perhaps?).
Well done in particular to Kirsty and George for building the awesome Harrier-mobile and then entertaining us all with Carson's Karaoke later on.
Can't remember a more enjoyable Monday evening!

Yes, great fun - thanks to George and Kirsty for organising. Maybe we could introduce this pram pushing as one of our regular training sessions? I don't think I've ever worked as hard - I was absolutely shattered as we got to the final stages and can now appreciate what Redgrave and Pinsent go through in an Olympic rowing final

It sounds like a great evening. Very sorry I missed it !!
Ian can you really relate your pram pushing to Olympic rowing???
I'm sure Redgrave and Pinsent wouldn't have coped as well as Beattie/Carson and Mestecky!
