Here's to 2009 and better weather. Already have LAMM dates in my diary and next OMM. Suspect next years event will be fully subscribed - a lot of masochists out there!

Great write up Ali.
I didnt realise that you were actually competing through the whole of Saturday. Well done for getting youreslves through and sounds like you did well.
Its good to hear a first hand account. It sounds as if the reports in the media were over the top.
I suppose you might have felt differently about it all if you had been less lucky and ended up stranded in the slate mine of worse out in the open but you also make your own luck in these situations and you were with an expert of course.
Anyway sounds as if you've got the bug and its hard to imagine worse conditions so good luck for next year.
We were all thinking of you both on Sunday morning after hearing the initial reports via the media.
Harriers tonight ?

yes, brilliant report ali and well done to you both. The media coverage was hugely annoying. I thought it was a bit weird having the whole country looking in to 'our world' - people who do not run will never understand the attraction of events like the OMM, and there isn't much point in trying to convince them otherwise. Glad you are both ok.
