We are ok!
Made it through and finished day one, tried to head back to the race HQ, took refuge at Honister pass and then were evacuated to Cockermouth and put in an SOS call to our friends in Kendal who put in a 3 hr round trip tp get us and take them back to their house. Currently in borrowed clothes waiting to see what happens next ie has our car floated away at race HQ???
Will post a full report when we eventually make it home.

So glad you’re both OK!
It looked horrendous on the news.
Looking forward to hearing about it, once you’ve found your car & clothes.

Glad you're both OK.
Was running in the Cairngorm Charmer on Saturday- 120mph+ winds at the ski carpark which blew in a pane of glass in my car and four others!! Never experienced anything like it before!

Welcome to my childhood weekends racing and training at Cairngorm. I can't tell you the number of items of clothing my family has lost as they have blown down that carpark never to be seen again. I have vivid memories of white knuckle grippping onto ropes for dear life to get back to the car without being punted straight through the window; ski boots and ski equipment do not mix with high winds.
So glad you are OK too. That sounds extremely serious weather.
