Dumyat4 Harriers braved a wet and blustery night to take part in the annual Dumyat hill race at Stirling Uni. It was soooooooo muddy, the section back through the woods resembled a challenge from I'm a celebrity get me out of here' with runners sliding down a river of thick mud - very comical.
The race was won by Matthew Gillespie - Glasgow Uni in 35 mins exactly - about a minute down on last year and 3 mins off the course record no doubt due to the heavy underfoot conditions.
All the Harriers were within 3 mins of each other as follows:
James B 55.29
Matt M 56.25
Cathy T 57.13
Ali M 58.32
Despite being my slowest time yet, I was pleased to make it back without having fallen over unlike poor Jean Bowman form Beacon Runners who was plastered in mud having done a somersault in the quagmire!
Despite the guys beating us gals down the hill with their superior descending skills, Cathy took the crown for reaching the cairn first follwed by me. James admitted his legs were still a bit weary from his great marath effort in London!
All in all a fun night out!
