Comrie Hills Relay 14th SeptKaz and I are starting to put together teams for the Comrie Hills Relay (full details on the Harriers' website: http://www.strathearnharriers.org.uk/comriehillsrelayrace.htm).
So far we have enough for one mens and one womens team, but there are still quite a few members who have not let us know if they are up for this or not. It would be great to put together at least one more team if not more...
If you'd like to take part and have not already let us know, please could you reply to this post or send an e-mail to Kaz or me. We're aiming to get the teams sorted out soon so people can start planning recce runs etc. So please could you let us know by July 18th if at all possible.
Also, we need to find lots of marshals and other helpers for the day so if you don't plan to run but would be willing to help out in some way, please also let me know.
Thanks.

Hiya,
Have any decisions been made regarding places for the race next month?

The selector in chief that is McStecko is away this week so you will have to be patient a wee while longer.

Comrie Hills Relay Ladies' TeamHi ladies,
Have decided on the women's team for the Comrie Hills Relay. Phill will be posting his decision really soon so just a wee bit longer to wait guys.

Leg 1. Me (Karen Nicholl)
Leg 2.Cathy Tilbrock and Ali Manners
Leg 3.Angela MacKenzie
Leg 4.Liz Mestecky
If I am not race ready however the team will be thus:

4.Kona.
Happy training girls. Can't wait to be back out of the gym and into the wilds!
If you are not racing, thankyou in advance if you have offered to help with organisation. If you haven't yet volunteered your services and are happy to help, please let us (Karen, Phill or Phill) know.

Hi Folks,
Unfortunately due to work commitments I will not manage the run this year- which is a bit of a downer.
Is there anyone out there able to cover my leg?
cheers

Sorry Kaz!Hi Kaz,
Sorry about that! Took the soft option of walking up the hill and sitting around a lot
Mind you, when I said I'd be happy to run in a slow team, the stellar company of Liz, Cathy, Ali and Angela wasn't quite what I had in mind
Hope you are on the mend!
All the best,
Kona

Fret notHi Kona,
Fret not. I got out for my first run today - woooooooohooooooo!
Felt pretty awkward at first due to one side not wanted to move forward but gradually relaxed into it.
My range of motion has greatly improved in my shoulder and I can almost get my arm to touch my ear - well I could this morning, but it has stiffened up massively since the run. Not surprising and I am sure it will loosen off again once it gets used to it.
Still have some great bruising and it is all muscular pain now I think. You don't realise how much you use your shoulder muscles when running.
Hope to see the ladies a week on Monday (Al is off this Monday and so we have made plans).

I met up with some Beacon Runners yesterday at the Ochils race. They are looking to come over on Saturday to recce legs 1,3 and 4. They expect to be in Comrie around 11am and were wondering if any Harriers would be interested in joining them/showing them the way.
Colin Glencorse and I are planning to do a recce of leg 3 on Saturday so that fits in well.
Post replies here if you'd also be up for it.

I am able to do legs 1 or 4, i don't mind which.

I'm probably not going to cut bracken on Leg 2 until the following weekend, so I could do any of the legs.
