A Worthy Cause!I may live to regret this but I've entered the Kindrochit Quadrathlon which is a fairly gruelling 4 stage adventure race round Loch Tay on July 11th. Myself and my brother-in-law have entered as a pair, the idea being we complete all 4 stages together. It goes something like this...
...a 1.5km open water swim across Loch Tay then... a 15 mile hill run across 7 Munros then... a 7 mile kayak back along Long Tay and to finish... a 34 mile road bike around the loch.
It promises to be a fairly evil event. The open water swimming in particular fills me with trepidation as it's not something I've any experience of... and water-wings are firmly disallowed.
Anyway, we're hoping to raise £1000 for Mercy Corps, an international humanitarian aid and development charity. It anyone fancies making a small donation then please go to www.justgiving.com and search under graham johnston (the direct link is www.justgiving.com/grahamandgraeme). Thanks in advance!
(ps- I'd also like to take this opportunity to get in my excuse to Phil for not entering the Stuch A'Chroin or Dumyat races- I was ski-touring in the Alps, I do apologise and will endeavour to make sure it doesn't happen again!)

Good for you Graham - nothing like a BIG challenge.
Good luck especially with the swimming prep!!!

Bold but admirable, Graham.
Nonetheless I seem to recall excuses in past years involving road traffic accidents in Italy?

Ahem, yes... celebrity beckons. I expect I'll be asked to appear on Jonathon Ross before too long.
