|
|
Hi everyone.
I would like anyone who comes or would like to come to the Crieff Sunday morning runs to consider the possibility of changing the place where we meet.
As you all know we currently meet at the recreation centre in Crieff on alternate Sunday mornings at 8.15am. I would like to float the idea of meeting at the carpark by Taylor park where we meet on a Wednesday in the summer.
The advantage of this is the same as for Wednesdays in the summer. It means we have more immediate access to off road running and more attractive running.
Even in the middle of winter it is just about getting light at 8.15am when we meet and in my experience we always do a predominantly off road run.
I would suggest that anyone who has an opinion on this subject should reply to this post and we could then discuss the option and opinions at the next committee meeting at the end of November.

| Suits me, i always dislike the mile on the road at the beginning and end of the Crieff run so i would support the idea. |

| I aim to try and force myself out of bed atleast once a month and meeting at Taylor Park would suit me too. Karen N |

| It may be a good idea but we can't willy nilly go changing meeting places that have been set in stone for ages.Members have to be informed and asked for their input.Their are still members who beleive it or not don't use computers so their access to this forum would be limited.I would be in favour of meeting at the park but perhaps this should be decided at committee before moving forward. |

| I have just posted my views under Shelagh's banner and as she doesn't get up let alone run at that ridiculously early hour on a Sunday I had better claim ownership. |

Thought it sounded like it was your views!!!
Shall I be controversial and say that the people who tend to go on the Sunday morning run are members of the forum and therefore the poeple who it affects. As to it going to committee, not everything, especially a minor tweak should have to go through the commitee. |

| Taylor Park makes bags of sense. Committee meetings are already long enough (and pleasantly social I might add) without debating this minor change! Let's let the forum members express their opinions and take it from there. Oh, and whilst on the subject I am supportive of a slightly later start for the NY hangover run! |

I tend to agree with Hill Fairy's original post

Let's just take the temperature of the club on this one on and offline and then if there seems to be support for it we can discuss at the next committee meeting.
Between now and then we should canvass any members that show up that don't use the forum (I asked one this morning and he was keen on the move). |

There is nothing controversial in what runningpix says its just wrong there are members who are not on this forum and have been running with this club for years. So to only make decisions based on what is discussed on the forum would be undemocratic. Half of the members of this club are not registered with this forum. I would reiterate that yes I agree meeting at Taylor park is a good idea, it is the principle of making changes without proper consultation that I would object to.
