Despite the total lack of runners for the last scheduled time trial, Colin again dutifully turned up this morning to do the timekeeping thing.

In the event there was one runner - better than none but not much.

Colin started me then headed off to Glasgow while I ran a self-timed 37.23, a minute faster than my July time. Encouraging, particularly since my legs were a bit sore from doing Ben Vorlich and Stuc a Chroin yesterday.

Next time trial is on September 19th - I'll be in Ireland but I hope that some other runners will turn up to justify Colin's effort.

Regrettably, Judith and I will be in England on 19 September so - probably no-one will notice (Gordon possibly excepted).

In the light of the crescendo of apathy towards the exciting event that is The Time Trial, I have been training Joka to do the timing for events after the 19th so that I can myself run on 3 October - even if only the more mature members appear. He is coming on well but can't quite get the hang of not peeing on the stopwatch at inappropriate moments (what is an appropriate moment I hear the more astute of you asking).

I think perhaps I'd better ask Judith to do the timing on the 3rd; at least she won't 'paws' at the wrong moment or make an antisocial mess on the pavement (I'm reasonably sure).

Colin Very Happy
