Despite the slightly worrying weather forecast for Sunday (although the mwis report is actually not quite as bad as it was predicting this time yesterday but still not great), we're still planning to go ahead with the run up King Kenneth's Cairn in memory of Simon.

Meet at Taylor Park at 9.15am to share lifts for a 9.30 start at the dam. We will aim to get to the Cairn at about 10.15 or so.

If you are injured or don't feel like a run up to the cairn is for you, please come along for a walk but just set off in time to get to the Cairn at 10.15. In view of the weather forecast please bring enough clothes, waterproofs, hat, gloves and all the usual stuff you would expect to take up a mountain in winter.

We'll keep an eye on the weather and, if necessary may need to revise the route to perhaps run alongside the loch instead...watch this space.

This morning fourteen folk ran or walked up a very wet hill, through some pretty awful weather, to gather round the cairn above Loch Turret.

Many of us reached the "can't get any wetter" point, and going steeply uphill in the driving rain Shelagh was heard to mutter something about the Knock being one of Simon's favourite hills too!

But despite a little bit of physical discomfort it felt a very worthwhile and ultimately enjoyable outing.

"Wet" hardly begins to describe it, but, apart from the destruction of two mobile phones (Beth, mine was also completely drowned and so far has not responded to my resuss techniques) it was a good morning out. The afternoon spent in the Legion with a few fellow Harriers enjoying Adrian's hospitality and some excellent conversation (which sporadically managed to break through the general level of the surreal, frivolous and not-entirely-relevant) was a very fitting follow-up.

Just the sort of day Simon would have appreciated!

I whole-heartedly agree that it was a good morning, although anyone who listened to me at the time will find that statement increadibly hard to believe!  I didn't hear Shelagh's comment about the Knock over my complaining.
Phone still hasn't dried out.  I fear it has seen it's last call.....
