Following the dinner and ceilidh Rob has asked me to post this message.
Sorry for the delay but my computer is on the blink.
Dear Phil,
As you could tell , I was hugely delighted by the unexpected presentation made to me on Saturday evening.Your most generous citation (did you really mean me ?) and Liz's charming presentation of such a handsome Quaich really rocked me back on my heels.I deserve none of it.
Despite the rambling nature of what I said about the Harriers , it is very gratifying to see the organisation very firmly fixed as part of the local community.It is welcoming to all from speedsters to snails and members appear to have endless supplies of enthusiasm and energy.Long may that continue.
Please pass on my thanks to all concerned with my 'Lifetime Award' and congratulate all involved in the organisation of Saturday's function.Every organisation needs a George Carson and as the Harriers have captured the Genuine (Junior) Article , the Club can be sure of an interesting social life.
