Six Harriers made the short trip to Auchterarder this evening for the Lang Toon 10k. It was a good evening for running, dry with a cooling breeze, and the race was won in 34.04 by Tony Jackson of Perth Road Runners. Ernie Hamilton, also of PRR, was first woman home in 41.36.
Ben was the fastest Harrier, finishing in 9th place in an impressive 38.06. Jim was next Harrier in 43.15, followed by Angela as the second placed woman in 45.02.
James finished in 46.31, Cathy in 47.02, and Rob in 53.09.

Well done to all, and especially to Ben for setting an excellent PB on a tough course. To put it in perspective, last year Will ran 38.11 and Ben ran 42.16. So Ben's clearly made a big step up in the last 12 months. I look forward to seeing what he can do on a good flat course (like the PB-friendly Pitlochry 10K). |

Ease off Pitlochry 10K Mr Men's team captain!!
It was definitely fulll distance when I set a PB there.
There's a bit of a hill at the start as well. Definitely full distance. No doubt about it. None at all....
Fantastic time from Ben. Its great to see him making such progress.
I would also support dropping the Knock from the championship. I made a big point of boycotting it this year. I think the race was much the worse for my absense. |
