Hi guys,

As most of you know, I am 'running' the Highland Fling this Saturday. I wish to raise as much money as I possibly can for a fantastic charity called 'Mary's Meals'. Just over £6 feeds a child for a whole year!!! So far through very kind donations I/we have fed 24 children for a year. As a minimum I would like to raise enough to feed 53 - 1 child for every mile but how good would it be If I could get enough for 2 or 3 children per mile!

If you would like to donate, please visit my just giving site:http://www.justgiving.com/karennicholl

If you have put your name down on my sponsorship form you can still use the site as it saves physical collection of money.

If you would like to cheer me (and the other loons doing this race - Phill T and Ian B) on in the latter stages of the race, I can't tell you what it would mean to see smiling, familiar faces.

Thanks.

Kaz.

Great stuff.  I've organised for the BBC, ITV, Channels 4 & 5, NBC, CBS and Al Jazeera TV (so Osama bin-Laden doesn't miss it) to cover your contribution to the race before they lose interest in Scotland and women called Susan Boyle.  They will of course be incognito so don't be surprised if you don't notice them hiding in the bushes.  To be on the safe side, I'll try and contribute a photo or two (if the alarm goes off and I manage to get there before you rush across the finishing line ahead of the SH boys).

Very Happy Colin

P.S. Electronic contribution sent as suggested.

Thanks to those who have contributed so far.

As for crossing the line ahead of Phill T and Ian - I think I'll have to face the nightmare of them catching me up and calmly passing me! Atleast I'll get a wee hello.

Where exactly is the finish line in Tyndrum? Every step will be agony by then, so if anybody has that info that would be fab.

Kaz.

The finish is at NN327306 - map from the Highland Fling website attached.  Don't blink as you reach Tyndrum or you'll miss it and end up on the Black Mount.....

Good luck!

Very Happy Colin

Karen, as you approach Tyndrum you run through a wooded area and then alongside a river (with the river on your right hand side).  You follow this path for about 200 yards until you meet a road.  At this road go LEFT towards Tyndrum Lower station and a caravan park, not RIGHT towards the village (people have got this wrong before).  You will climb a slight incline and the road bends towards the left.  Just after the bend and  before the station you go through a gate on your right hand side and follow the path - from here you have to cross a river, but the route should be very obvious.  Just follow the path until you reach the houses, then the Fling finishes just before the WHW route reaches the A82.

It should be easy to follow and is all signposted with the WHW signs.

Give me a call on my mobile before 8.30 if you still aren't clear - 07939 535523.

Ian

ps good luck, and if I happen to pass you don't expect a lot of civil conversation - I'm often quite grumpy during these events, but sweetness and light once I've finished  Smile
