|
|
Hi Monday runners and any other harriers who happen to be free on Monday the 22nd June,
I hear on the grapevine that this term's run has been proposed as running from Loch Turrent to Comrie. A fantastic choice!
3 things that need organising are food, transport and timings (and yes I do think that is the correct order!)
Food
I have phoned the Royal Hotel to find out if they could do us a special offer for lunch for our end of term celebration and they are happy to do a 2 course (starter + main or main + desert) for 15 pounds.
I haven't booked it as I wanted to get a general concensus as to whether people are happy with that.
The alternative is the bar where mains are about 9 - 10 pounds so I thought that the 2 courses was quite a good deal.
Let me know your (polite) opinions about preferences.
Transport
We will need cars to drive up to the Dam and at Comrie.
Any volunteers? I my self am happy to use the trusty wee corsa.
Timings
Both the hotel and the pub serve food from 12 - 2.
I can't imagine it is going to take longer than 1.5 hours to run from the dam to Comrie (happy to stand corrected), but we do need to drive up to the dam.
I would have thought if most people meet at Taylor Park at 10am with those who are taking cars to Comrie meeting at 9.30am?
I will be at the run on Monday to finalise arrangements and decide on cars etc, but if you could let me know re: food, and driver volunteer status that would be fab!
Looking forward to it - let's hope it is a day like today!
El capitaness! (Kaz)

The food in the Royal is very good. This is just a suggestion as an alternative.
Comrie Golf Club for lunch.
They do ‘soup & sandwich’ for £5 or two courses for about £7.50 to £8 Plus drinks.
It is beautiful surroundings -click here http://www.comriegolf.co.uk/clubhouse.htm
We could park the ‘Comrie’ Cars at the golf club.
At the moment I am supposed to be working so I might not even be able to come, I’ve put in for the day off and should find out on Saturday.
See you all on Monday! _________________ "Sorry, I've got to run." |

J&I are OK with the Royal or the Golf Club for lunch. If it's a vote, we'll go for the Royal on the grounds we deserve to spoil ourselves after doing a half-marathon the day before.
Our car has room for three as well as ourselves so happy to take it to Comrie or the dam as required. Timings sound fine to us as well.
No mention of dogs but we'll be leaving Joka at home - he can have a doggy-bag from lunch. No doubt more chat and planning on Monday morning... See you there.

The golf club is a good idea too. Happy to go with the majority.

Its a great run. I know it takes me just over an hour from Comrie to the dam so 1.5hours downhill should be pretty safe.
If I am mobile I may well be up for some taxi duties. |

Humble apologies for missing people this morning:
I did come but slept in as I had been at conference all weekend and got back from London after midnight. At least I was able to give Judith a lift home as she was suffering from a cold!
I have sent out an email to all the ladies, but have misplaced G and C's email addresses so thought I would copy the message to here. Remember it is open to all harriers:
Can you let me know if you are coming to the end of term run a week today?
Can you let me know if you are happy to drive? I think we will need 3 cars for each end (Crieff/Comrie) depending on who can come. So far we have 1 for each end.
Lunch will be either in The Royal Bar or the Golf club depending on general consensus on the day as no booking is required.
As people will probably want dry / spare clothes to put on for lunch it would probably be best if we ALL meet at 9.30am at Turret park so that people can put their spare clothes in the cars heading off to Comrie.
The Comrie and shuttle cars can head out while everyone else heads up to Loch Turret and waits for the rest to arrive.
Please let me know if you are coming and driver status so we can wait for you at Turret Park.

Hi all,
I'm looking forward to tomorrow.
I'm meeting Fiona in Comrie at 9.45 in the Royal car park, then I'll drive Fiona and our 3 dogs through to Crieff and meet the rest of you at Taylor Park. I'll be taking Fiona and the 3 dogs up to the Turret Dam and Fiona (or somebody) can run me back up to collect my car after lunch.
I met up with Seonaid, she is planning to take her car to Comrie, I should manage to fit her in as well.
So plan 'A' for me is to meet Fiona & Seonaid at the Royal Hotel Car Park in Comrie at 9.45. and drive through to meet the rest of you in Crieff at 10 am.
See you all in the morning! _________________ "Sorry, I've got to run." |

Hi Kaz,
Not sure if you got my email? Fi Downie is joining us and has a car. We will come down to the park for 9.30 as planned (with car presumably).
Cheers,

Just to confirm I'll be at the Royal Hotel in Comrie at 9.45 am. Thanks for the offer of a lift to Crieff, George and I'm happy to take you back up to the Dam after lunch. I will have space to take another 4 back to Crieff/Dam.
