Judith & I duly completed our charity run this morning - thankfully, our various minor injuries of the last few weeks didn't materialise to spoil the party. There were some 1800 runners present, about two-thirds doing a 10k and the rest the HM.
Judith comfortably got a PB of 2:06:16 and I didn't at 2:08:12. See more details at http://tanconsult.blogspot.com/.
Many thanks once more to all those who contributed to our charity appeal. We raised around £200 for Action Aid so you all done good!
Hopefully, the bodies will not fail us as we rise in the morning for the End of Term run and lunch.

Very well done to both of you!! I have great admiration for the way you both trained and also battled through injury to achieve your goal. Amazing also that you both made the club run this morning!!
What's the next goal? |

We're still debating what's next - reading the reports has made us reluctantly reconsider the exciting prospect of entering the WHW race....
I think mine should be to find some (legal) way of beating J over 13 miles without relying on some injury or illness to her. J's might well be covering 13 miles in one go every year without the aid of a horse.
On as serious a note as I can manage, modest as this target will no doubt be to many others in the Club, I've never run as much as 1000 miles in any calendar year since I started 'jogging' in 1976. So far this year, and for the first time ever at this date, I'm in reach of that distance by 31 December - so I've set myself the task of doing it. Any encouragement to shift my **** out of the house during the good weather and add to the mileage will (probably) be gratefully received. I don't want to get to winter and find I've got to get out every day to do it.... We do have a running machine but I'd rather not get to the target on a treadmill when we live in such a beautiful place.
As to Judith, I'd quite like to see her try for a sub-two hour half marathon; I'm convinced she could do it with the right training. Maybe someone else who wouldn't risk divorce could mention it....
