In the words of Billy Joel, 'Oh what a night..' - it was a real cracker!
Great speeches, wonderful band and a corking hangover this morning!!
George you should clearly be on the stage, you looked so at home with the microphone. A career change perhaps??!!
Thanks to committee and organisers for all their work in putting together such a great evening.

Indeed, a darn fine 'shin dig': quality food, quality ceilidh and fantastically groovy disco dancing!

| Did anyone pick up a camera Saturday evening? Tracey left hers behind and was hoping someone took it home with them. |

A brilliant night!!!
Well done to George for a marvellous job MC-ing. Kept us all amused and kept the evening ticking along. The speeches were good too. I particularly enjoyed the ned-baiting one!
We raised £1020 for Pancreatic Cancer Research which was so much more than we ever hoped for! And we still have the proceeds of TFGE's auction and the club donation to come too.
But perhaps the highlight of the evening, and worth the £27.50 on its own was Bob's cossack-stylee dancing at the impromptu disco later on. Truly memorable.
I've uploaded some photies from the evening http://picasaweb.google.com/McStecko/Ceilidh2009 and Karen P has some even better ones here:

P.S. Oh and we have a very nice purpley scarf in our possession. Any claimers? |

| Just wanted to add my thanks too - what a top night oot! Well done to the organisers and all our entertaining speech-givers, plus George for his fab compering. Phil M's funky moves on the disco floor were also a sight to behold - so many hidden depths in this club!! I'm still gob-smacked and overwhelmed to have won the whisky - sorry Jim, I know you'll never forgive me! Looking forward to next year already! |

And yet one more round of applause to all who organised, contributed and came to the fun. Am I allowed to be both English and confess to liking the sound of bagpipes AND the taste of haggis? George is clearly a natural so surely we should organise more events just to let him do his stuff.... And I'm definitely not going to let Judith escape all this fun and frivolity next time! |

Great night on Saturday. Thank-you to George, Liz and all those involved in the planning. Very hard to drag Kaz away from the dance floor at the end of the night.
Well done to everyone involved and thanks.
