If you still haven't paid your £10 membership fee for 2009 please do so very very soon. It really is a pain to have to chase people for so long into the year! Next year we need to think of a way to make it easier to collect it from everyone - or some form of torture that I can apply to those that haven't paid by at least the end of March.

What, I ask myself, do errant non-paying folk not get from the Club? Presumably, the non-payers don't turn up at the Club runs or else they'd get verbally abused (hopefully). Do they present themselves at Club social events where said verbal abuse is also a risk? Do they miss out on discounted products and services only available through the Club? Are they barred from races that they very much want to enter?
If the answer to these (and other pertinent) questions is 'No', why keep chasing them? Why not just strike them off the Club membership list and charge them a Seriously Hefty Rejoining Fee if they decide to cough up Seriously Late?
I may have missed it but has a list been published of said errant folk? If not, why not? Bring the power of the paid-up membership to bear and name and shame, I say. If anyone can't find £10 for such a worthy cause, how come they can still afford the running gear?

Based on the above the cheque is in the envelope and I will post on my way out for a run tmora.
Sorry, maybe next year we could use the entry central online payment method- my late fee is purely the difficulty in a) finding the chequebook or prising it from Debbie b) writing the cheques, c) licking the envelope and then after all that is d) finding a stamp- gettig around all these obstacles proves a challenge for us Lanarkshire folk (check with Digby) it all seemed too easy to forget
